Hi, I’m Daniël, a designer of digital product experiences in the Netherlands with more than 10 years of practice.
I have a proven track record of leading teams and setting up product vision, while connecting improvements in user experience design to ROI.
With a background in illustration, I design in Figma, Sketch, Axure or Adobe CC, and I write code in HTML, CSS & JS, leveraging UX research and design systems.
In 2019 was hired at Metrixlab, a market research firm where legacy systems had been accumulating for over 20 years. I worked there for three years as a UX/UI Designer while designing and redesigning many applications.
Legacy enterprise software can be complex and time-consuming for users to work with, and this company finally decided it was time for a digital transformation to improve user experience and employee efficiency. The many applications that were part of the legacy software needed to be brought into a single end-to-end platform.
Simultaneously the technology stack would get a complete rewrite in Angular with a modern event-driven micro-frontend to improve performance and maintenance. Employees, clients, and respondents needed to have a consistent, seamless, and intuitive experience throughout the process.
Before Metrixlab I worked for a range of diverse clients, creating websites, applications, animations and even games. My combined skills in design and development allowed me to collaborate on the process from concept to implementation.
I also led a usability lab, doing more than a dozen studies with many more users, often using eye-tracking technology. I created white-labeled design systems, automating processes and migrating teams to use new tools.
As a lead designer at Metrixlab, I learned how to create hi-fi prototypes faster by setting up a design system from scratch. This article will explain how you can do this too.
